I'm not sure if I'm in the right category but I have a question about my 2001 Ranger. I just tried to see if the 4x4 high worked and nothing happened. I put my trans in neutral and tried to put it in 4x4 low and nothing happened there either.Any Ideas? Any help would be appreciated. By the way it's a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT with a 4.0. .

It could be a faulty switch (if electronic), a bad 4X4 module, or the shift motor.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you supposed to see the (2) 4x4 IDIOT lights(4x4 high and 4x4 low) come on for 1 or 2 seconds on the dash when you first turn the key? Because they don't even go on then either. I don't know but could it just be a fuse in the fuse block that's blown out? I know that sounds stupid but I'm grasping at straws here!! Thanxs for any help you can give me
