Thats right, the NA Fairlane is now 5 speed manual. Ive just gotten home from doing the conversion. For the most part, it went pretty smoothly. THe only real drama that we had, was when one of the new flywheel bolts snapped off in the crank as we were fitting them. By the way, these were genuine Ford parts, that felt like they were make of play dough. Anyway, the offending bolt was removed (im sure the swear words helped !), and we were able to continue. Took the car for a test drive after everything was done, and its like driving a new car. The gears all shift smoothly, with no noise comming from the box. The only part we didnt fit, was one of the clutch cable brackets (cause we didnt know where it goes!!, so if anyone has a engine bay pic showing the location of the brackets, id be greatful if youd post it).
Ill get some pics up in the next day or so, once all of the centre console is back in.
Anyway, a big thanks to ELXR8393 for his assistance. I couldnt have done it without you.

shhh i dont have the cash............
i sware i thought tim's car was a SVO fairlane~!! the 2 tone job looks so factory
I reccomend Castrol Transmax Z for the t5, it will improve the shift even more and make the box last longer.
The brackets for the clutch cable attach near the chasis rail, at least it did on my Fairmont when we converted it. I'll try and have a better look for ya.
My cruise still works perfectly, with absolutley no changes whatsoever
