I have dropped into my 49 Ford F1 pickup a 302 w/ AOD transmission from a 1985 Lincoln Continental. I am wiring the truck myself and need the connectors identified, i.e. neutral safety switch, reverse light, etc. located on the exterior of the transmission.
Autozone.com does not have any repair info or wiring schematics for the 85 Lincoln for some reason.
In case someone else has the same question I had, this is what I have found out.
Referring to the attached sketch of the neutral safety switch/back up lights switch connector located on the driver's side of the transmission:
The neutral safety portion of the connector (if the transmission is equipped with a starter interrupt) has a white/pink wire going in from the ignition switch and a red/lt. blue wire going out to the starter relay. Without starter interrupt, both wires going in and out are red/lt. blue.
The back up light portion of the connector has a purple/orange wire going in from fuse panel and a black/pink wire going out to the back up lights.
Since I don't have the original connection harness that plugs onto the connector on the transmission, I will simply use the pin readouts.
