confused 9" diff???

i'm just wondering how much it would cost to get a 9" LSD diff for my ea, my mate's uncle has a xy with a 351 cleavland in it and a 9" LSD diff and he says that the 9" is the best and strongest diff you can get.

just wondering how much it would cost to get one installed and were.

Re: 9" diff???

Try Sydney Competition Warehouse, they did a 9 inch for my mates VH Commie.

It will have to be modified to fit the EA mounting brackets and will require an engineers certificate for legality of installation.

Looking at 2K or more unless you know someone, which judging by this thread you dont.

Re: 9" diff???

im after a 9" for my car, and i was told it was going to cost either $1000 or $2000 for one. i cant remember which one it was

It's one thing to lose a drag, it's another thing to lose a drag against a holden. I'd die before I let that happen to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 9" diff???

A 9" diff on an relatively stock EA will chew ALOT of power!!!
The 9" is really only good if your putting through huge amounts of power, such as a 351 Cleveland would be.

1966 Blue Ford Galaxie - 4Dr Sedan, Pwr Steering, 302 Windsor, Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, 650 Holley Race Custom , Crow Cam 15666, Rollmaster Camgear, Heads Ported, MSD 6AL Ignition, MSD Billet Dizzy, Crane Energizer Roller Rockers, C4 - Stage 2 Shift Kit, HiStall 2500rpm, B&M Z-Gate Shifter, XY GT Radiator, 2.92 9" Diff, Dual Thermofans, 2.25" Dual Exhaust, RCI 16gal Fuel Cell.

Re: 9" diff???

This is a common misconception guys, a 9" diff will not 'chew' any power.
This has been proven on dynos before.

It's also never a bad thing having overkill built in, I have a 3.5 LSD 9" in my XH ute and know I'll never break it.
