Wasnt just a broken axle like I thought

Look slike that axle was broken for awhile too. Going by the polished steel on the outside of the axle. I'd guess it broke during load up of a burnout and I gather it failed on launch??

I've seen the same breakages with Holden axles when I used to own a HZ.

Yeah, it happened on a launch, I thought it was only a broken axle, but yeah, you can see what happened.
Parts list now has a few extra items:
31sp Billet Axles
31sp US Gear LSD Centre
2nd hand Carrier
New Motiv Crown Wheel and Pinion 3.89
Bearings, seals etc etc
While im there, new wheel cylinders, brakes and brake lines and uni's.

somwehere over 2k.

Hopefully this one wont break.....

I've had the diff carrier caps crack on me and essentially had a steel bar machined up to support the existing cast iron cap. The cap cracking could have contributed to the axle breaking. So I would look into steel caps or modifying the cast iron ones

What, on a 9"?
Who would stock steel caps? i havent seen any around...

sheesh dude what you doing dumping clutch at 5000 thats a nasty diff you have got how much horses are you putting through that driveline best part is you have the power in your car to do that
