I have a 1994 grand marquis and the tranny started to slip at 100000 miles. Got any suggestions? How hard is it to replace aka (can it be done in a weekend)?

what gear is slipping? very first thing you need to do is check for trouble codes. this may point you in the right direction for diagnosis.

after that, pull the pan and see what sort of debris you have. depending on failure, fresh fluid and filter may help. make sure you drain the torque converter and flush the cooler. adding some lucas or trans-X may also help.
