95 Aerostar AWD front gear noise at 15-? mph

I have a 1995 AWD Ford Aerostar and have virtually rebuilt the entire front and rear suspension. I even put a rear swaybar from Addco on which greatly improved the vans cornering.
I have 2 issues though:
#1 - I am getting a very annoying gear noise coming from the front of the van when traveling 15mph and above. It seems like it is coming from the access panel under the dash. I can not figure out if it is the front axle or the trans or the transfer case. Any ideas? Do any of the above take a special additive that will quite them?
#2 - The power steering pump makes a tremendous amount of racket, even when sitting still. I know Ford pumps are loud but this is wierd.
I replaced the rack and pinion and bled the system as best I could, but it is still making noise. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for your help!
Boz

well boz some T-cases and rears do reguire a special additive but i am not sure about your model.
the other thing that causes gear noise is when wear gets bad enough to change the contact patch on the gears.
usually a gear whine will reguire some type of rebuild to get the proper angle back.
as for the power steer pump i say if its noisy get a new one but if the noise is just from replacing fluid then you can try turning the wheels lock to lock a couple times and making sure the fluid level is OK after that it is just a matter of driving it a day or 2 to see if it clears up.
the other thing is if you replaced the whole rack and left the old pump that would be why it makes noise now too.
