Hi guys I'm new to this forum and really need help. The speedometer on my 1996 falcon sapphire (el) stops working after a few minutes of driving and almost at the same time my gears stop changing. Someone told me it was a senor causing the same problem. Does anyone know what is the name of the sensor and also where is it located so I can do it myself or can it be fixed
i think i found the sensor (on top of the tranni) it has 3 wires going into it,i removed and cleaned but the only thing that has changed is the speedo still jumping around and it takes longer to change to 2nd gear ????

found the fault
the cog on the sensor was slightly worn / went down to the local wreckers and replaced the whole sensor ( $30 ) all going good gears changing as normal and speedometre not going bonkers
all running sweet
