98 taurus tranny line leak
might sound simple to some, but the trans axle cooler line leaks at the trans housing. the manual says tighten (did that) or replace line. the leak is in the fitting, the nylon gasket (?) has hardened and fluid leaks from the back of the fitting. to replace this line (3.0 engine) it seems like i've got to practically tear the front apart, get a $40 tool to pull the line off the radiator,and buy a line from the dealer. The lines are in vey good condition. I attempted a "fix" by removing the fitting housing and trying to fix using o-rings. Is there another way ,maybe a "kit" ? I hate the thoughts of replacing the line when it's just the fitting.
