Hi,

I am swapping a 351/c4 into my 6 cyl XD falcon body. QLD transport say that if the engine/box/diff were an original option there are no issues with installing them and getting rego.

So my question is: was a disc brake nine inch an option on an XD falcon?

Updated----- I just did a search and found the answer, apparently did not come with a nine inch. I have two borg warners to destroy before I need a nine inch anyway.

a 9" from either XA-C would fit as they run the same width diff's.

I have found an XC GXL diff for $450 with 2.75's and LSD. Just trying to organise the funds. My wife has control of them!!

I wanted to know about if it was an original option as that would mean that I didn't need a engineer's certificate, but I will by the looks of it.

You only need an engineers for the diff if you modify the mounting etc. Your not doing that, so you shouldn't need an engineers cert. It bolts straight in. You'll probably need to run an XC handbrake cable as well. Although I think from XC->D there was bugger all difference but I do think they did change the calipers in regards to the handbrake setup?

My wife handed control of $ to me as she was spenting too big. Problem is it must be contagious? I've just blown the credit card so much the banks frozen it. It's well above its max limit. Oh well I had fun last weekend though. So it was worth it.

I have heard of some "specials" that came from the factory with the 9". I think it was for homologation.
