Thinking my speedo is out I decided to jack it up and see what diff ratio I got in my car - this is because a while ago I got a 2nd hand diff put in and it doesn't have a tag..

Anyway I just assumed that you jack up the rear, turn the tailshaft, and count the number of turns per turn of the wheel.. Not so..

If so then I have a 1.8ish:1 diff.. 1.8ish turns of the tailshaft for 1 turn of the rear wheels. Not being a LSD the two wheels turn opposite ways. Are you supposed to turn both wheels the same way and count the tailshaft turns?

Anyway this wasn't as easy as I thought it was. Surely I done something wrong? And yes I can count..
