Another T5 conversion question

I read somewhere that doing the auto to manual conversion causes the smartlock to disangage is this true? what r the effects electronic wise during the installation?

i have done the conversion, and have had not problems whatsoever with smartlock. It still enables itself when the key is removed

The conversion is very straight forward - unbolt auto, replace flywheel and knock in a spigot bearing, align clutch, bolt up 5 speed, change pedal box, run clutch cable, switch computer (if you want). The wiring loom for the manual box just replaces the wiring loom for the auto (at least it did in mine). If you switch computers (and make sure you have the right one) it will be the same as a factory 5 speed.

i heard that someone in this forum has a mod for the pedal box so i dont have to replace it for a manual one ???
