AOD Always in Forward Gear
I have a 1985 Ford AOD transmission that I took to a repair shop to have him check everything out, install a Baulmann shift kit and fix the parking pall because it would not lock into park before. I was told the tranny looked fine, a new parking pawl was put in and the shift kit installed.
After laying on my back most of a Saturday at 100 degree temperatures putting the tranny in with a new Road Runner 2200-2600 stall converter, I have a major problem. By the way, this tranny is sitting behind a rebuilt 302,
The transmission is alway in gear, even in park. When I try to rev the engine, the vehicle lurched a little when its in park like it is trying to go and there is a heavy load on the engine. I have no neutral or reverse. Like I said it is always in gear. I am taking the vehicle back to the repair shop to have it fixed, but out of curosity, I am trying to find out what they did to my transmission. It is worse than before I took it to them.
Thanks......
