Aod Trans Onto 302w

Gidday ,I want to know whats involved in mating a AOD trans onto a 302 w -do they need to run of a ECU?

Hmm..
some clarification of what you want to fit here.
there are two types of 4 speed tranny

The AOD... Automatic overdrive.
AOD-E also known as the EOD.

Which one do you want to use...if you don't know, then what are you pulling it from?

I'm looking for a trans which has an over drive for better economy?since fuel just keeps going up ,I would have to import one since I live in a small country down under.I'm not Familiar with them, all I want is a trans that gives me that overdive its going into an 80's F series

you want to put in a ford FIOD with a small block bellhousing that will suit your 302 they are not electronic and require any major mods to fit it in

The FIOD is an AOD, for some reason we call them FIOD down here in Australia so if you see an AOD for sale its the same thing and if yoor F series truck is a 4wd make sure you get the correct extension housing to suit.
