I am working on this car for the first time, it is a 1989 lincoln town car, FI 302, AOD transmission, my question to you guys is this. I pulled the motor out, and I have discovered that I am finding it impossible to turn the torque converter backwards (couterclockwise) while it is in the transmission, it also turns very hard in the clockwise position. Is there a problem with my front pump?, is this normal? The reason I pulled the motor is the starter was having trouble turning the motor over, I suspecting a spun bearing or something, but everything looks to fine except this trans issue. Put on new starter, battery, cables, etc,etc, still motor would only spin about 4 or 5 revolutions, and just quit turning. I have worked on alot cars over the years, and I have never incountered a problem like either one of these. HELP,HELP. Thanks, Jeff
