Ok people, if you didn't already know, i've got a AU1 XR6 VCT. I want to "jazz" it up a little by putting the AUII/III style auto shifter facia (the part around the base of the shifter itself), from the bland black to the chrome lookalike, as well as the knobs for the air controls (hot -> cold, air speed, window/feet/face etc etc)(again from the black to the silver).

Any hints as to prices, instructions for removing them and complications.

sounds like a good idea mate! (especially the A/C knobs as im gonna be spraying my centre pod thing and another couple of highlights silver)

actually now i think of it i think the knobs might be substantially larger than the series 1 ones??

series 1 and 2 knobs are very different - don't think that they would be interchangeable. The auto surround should swap over easily.

Bugger, oh well, its mainly the auto surround I want to swap anyway. I probably could always paint the knobs themselves anyway if I was desperate.
