i have been into 2 gearbox shops to see about getting a shift kit and one place told me that au gearboxes are shit and you cant do anything to them and said i was lucky it still works. he also said u cant put a stall converter on them because of the computer. the other shop i went to said that there is not much for them but said he could change the solanoids ($220). what have other people done to improve there sloppy au gearboxs. is it worth getting the solanoids?

Oh, and they are full of shit, a number of AU's I know have shift kits and the owners swear by them.

Shift kits and stall convertors are available.

Noddy has a Dominator in his T series.

If your looking for a proper shift kit/stall try chatting to Steve @ Redcliff dyno in Brisbane.

And as far as computer problems go Chiptorque can fix it. Recliff Dyno also have there own comp but its a bit pricey

a mate of mine just had an electronic shiftkit installed in his au and its awsome its got an on and off switch to so u dont have to put up with hard shifts driven normally

havin said that my au box just blew up on saturday and its just done 145 000 kms
so yes i can vouch that some au boxes are crap...
anyway manual conversion here i come
