Black EX-R6

Anybody had to replace their gearbox on the AU before.

I posted a while back on a strange noise I was getting whenever I was in 4th at exactly 2400rpm. The noise appears when I have accelerated upto just past 80km/h and lift off the pedal. I can hear a metalicy sort of grating or rattle sound. If I put my foot down again it makes the sound slightly worse.

If I take my foot off the clutch it stops, same goes for just dropping it out of gear without using clutch. Sound stops. So it must either be a clutch or gear problem. Ive only recently had a new clutch put in and I am hoping it is something to do with that. But worse case scenario is I will be up for a new gear box.

So any ideas?

Dunno. The car is going in next week some time for extensive testing. I tell ya its bugging the hell outa me.

Sounds like the noise my box made b4 it went bang, from what i been told the cluster gear in mine has broke...get it looked at now b4 u loose everything mine went for about 4 weeks after i picked up the noise. Second hand AU box $1000 to $1500 Tremec box $4500 apox 6 speed mel wood $7000
