hi fellas just wondering is there any difference between an ef or a au III 5 speed box and drive line if so what are they and are they compatable, will they fit an ef xr8

Assuming you are talking about I6 g/boxes, they are different ef to au. The au has a longer ext housing and is not a straight change over.
Nither will be suitable (straight changeover) for an 8 as the eight has a longer input shaft, approx 27mm. this is a simple answer, however if you have some thing specific, things can be "made" to fit.

Same applies actually with v8, ef to au regarding ext housing length.
