Hi,i cant find any info on the au2/3 t5 trans gear ratio's for xr8,xr6...
also does the ef xr6 box have the same as the au 6cyl?

V8 has a 2.95 ratio first, VCT has a 3.05 ratio first, and non VCT has a 3.35 ratio first.

EB to EL XR6 has the 3.28 ratio first, therefore different. AU boxes are not dimensionally interchangeable with earlier models.

Here are the ratio's for the AUII/III T5OD box for the XR6 and XR8.

XR6 HP/VCT
1st 3.35 (3.05 VCT)
2nd 1.93
3rd 1.29
4th 1.00
5th 0.72

XR8
1st 2.95
2nd 1.94
3rd 1.34
4th 1.00
5th 0.73

V8 is 1.94 second, 1.34 third, 1.0 fourth and 0.72 fifth. Sorry, don't know the others off the top of my head, remember them for box ID purposes only.

Apologies XR strider, I notice the Ford website now lists the BA XR6T T5 ( same internals as AU XR8) as 0.73 ratio O/D. This box has historically been listed as 0.72, but mathematically it works out at 0.727. I was only being pedantic as often the actual ratio number is deliberately rounded to make it different from a similar but not interchangeable product.
