How hard would it be to swap an auto out of a ba xr8 and put a manual in it. Besides the box itself, pedels what else is required to do the swap. Would a ford dealer be worth considering to do the swap or they just try to charge to much. I found a car around the corner from where im moving to in a few months and it is blueprint, leather seats and premium sound. Now it is close enough to my price range to consider it except it's a dam auto. On the same subject is it possible to put a new diff center in say a 3.9 to give the car a little more poke.

I have been looking at this. I am doing an auto to manual on a turbo ute this week. V8 will be next. 3.7 diff gears are available, they do not make 3.9 ratio.

Ok so ill settle with a 3.7, how will the ecu react to the newly installed manual. What parts do you think are needed to do the swap (i wouldnt know) and do you have a rough idear of what it will cost $3-4000. BTW is the swap your doing on your car or a customers car.

wouldnt you be better off looking for a manual to start with, in the end it will cost you more in the long run
