Hey boyz, at the last brizzy meet... I noticed that my engine bay was alot hotter than those who had a manual tranny...
Is this because i have the oil cooler up front or is it to do with the fact that the auto tranny's run hotter and transfere the heat too the donk??

One of the reasons autos use more fuel than manuals is because there is more friction in the driveline, which means that more power from the engine is being converted to heat, rather than forward motion. That's the only explanation I can think of.

That's what I have noticed.

Since I have installed the T5, My clutch fan seems to kick in much less then when I had the auto. The temp guage now sits on 1/4, and if I drive the thing like it's stolen it dosent usually go over 1/3. With the 3 speed, it would go to about 1/2.

i have a 4 speed auto, it it runs about the 1/4 on normal driving, if i give it biggles or drive it like its stolen, it will sit about half, u have to remember that the 4 speed has a lock up converter, so its pritty much like a cluch when its inguaged, it doesn't slip.
