Has anyone had problems with the auto leaking from where the tailshaft yoke goes into the box as last night i parked it on my driveway which has a 20 degree slope. I didn't think this would be a problem but today when i moved it there was a shitload of tranny (auto) fluid on the diveway. I would think that maybe the seal is stuffed or shouldn't i have parked it on such a steep angle?

Sounds like the rear seal, I replaced one on my escort, was just a matter of removing the tailshaft ( 4 x 8mm bolts ) im not sure if i had to remove the extension housing or not. Then prying the old one out and driving the new one in, this was ages ago but I dont think there was anymore to it than that. Should be the same with a falcon

Might pay for you to replace the extension housing bush also.These can be subject to a fair bit of wear and can cause the seal to leak.
.A.T.P do a kit with the bush,seal and gasket..part#-RIK-40085

Thanks guys. Am taking it to an auto guy i know to put a new bush and seal in and give it a service while he's at it. He said he'll stick a brass bush that are used in the v8 boxes in it and reckons it'll last a shitload longer than the one that's in there now. Only done 97,000 k's.
