Hi all. I have a 2003 xr6 man. i love the look of the car but the whole driving experience is stuffed due to a noisy clunking diff (not LSD) the heap of purple junk ,as i now call it , has only done 18000 kms. the response from the dealer is that they are all like that. Is this true? is this the best ford can produce in this day and age? What can i do to get satisfaction? i feel like taking an axe to it

If it is a manual ? they get a bit of driveline shunt, like if you are idling along in a slightly higher gear, it is all the gears in the gearbox and diff engaging/ disengaging. ie similar to bunny hopping but on a milder scale. A lot of large engine rear wheel drive cars do it unfortunately, the autos dont get the same problem. I would take it to another dealer to get a second opinion
