eek BA Series Heavy Duty 5sp GearBox rattle/whine!

I've noticed a few odd things:

1) "clunk" when changing 1st to 2nd to 3rd under low revs; and
2) "whining" under load in 3rd gear.

I've been assured by the dealer that:

1) "clunk" is due to the characteristics of the gearbox i.e. heavy duty; and
2) "whining" under load in 3rd gear is also characteristic of the heavy duty gearbox. Ford Engineers have stated that it is 'normal'.

I DON'T ACCEPT POINT NO.2. WHY IS IT WHINING IN 3RD GEAR?

3rd gear whine in a gearbox of this design under load is usually caused by offset loading affecting the contact tooth pattern, generally due to insufficient pre-load on the input shaft.

Throw in an exhaust system ... u wont hear the whine any longer

I was told by the dealer that the " rattle " in the gearstick in 3rd gear was due to the MOMO gearknob being made from alloy and resinating , interesting huh ?? I have had manual cars for over 30 years and if there is a rattle in the gearstick , we have bearing or incorrectly meshing teeth , me thinks the dealer might be changing gearboxes , WHY does it only rattle in one gear ???

Sorry Fullthrottle but I have the full zorst system and still hear the gearstick rattle .
