Belt Sqeaking

Iv recently had a car accident with my ford fiesta LX 1994 and now when i apply the acceleration one of the belts makes a sqealing noise. I dont no much about cars but i was hoping you could tell me if the belts just slipped out a bit from the groves or if the belt is nackered, by the way the car is still moving but with the noise. Thanks

Re: Belt Sqeaking

Khaled,
go to a reputable mechanic (not a dealer one)..get an opinion. If something is damaged (plausible) then you can go back to your repairer..
It may just be an adjustment issue. cost bugger all if it is. Smash repairers don't often remove belts and things, but it is common for us to undertension things like belts, as too mcuh tension can damage pulley bearings and things. A DECENT mechanic will put you straight....tell you to take it back or fix it an minimum charge.

Cheers
Jas
