Hi guys,

The ef xr 6 has done almost 240,000 km i know that you are supposed to use atf fluid in theese boxes and i am in the process of putting an new heavy duty clutch in etc etc

I was wondering what is the best fluild for theese boxes, should i use an synthetic fluid--- what viscosity ,what about an addative since its done so many k's if so what addative

I use REDLINE ATF fluid, I have no shifting problems whatsoever when either hot or cold.The manual actually states any ATF fluid that contains the additive Mercon..

what does this cost ep price per bottle, i see qiute i bit of shell synthetic product around but dont particularly like the brand

do i need an addative since its gettin on

The haynes manual lists an Lubrizol 7906 addative to the dexron 2 fluid, will this be compatable with a synthetic fluid

I use DexronII, with the aditive they say to use.
It was like a new box when i went to it from gearbox oil.

This lubrizol 7906 additive is supposed to stop baulking, if i use the redline fluid do i/ can i still add this

i rang castrol after searching through other threads and they reccomended castrol transmax z (which is an synthetic version of dexron 3) with no additional additives
