Do any you guys with automatic cars have problems when the trans changes back to first gear?
My trans is getting serviced and flushed today and the trans guy said it has something to do with the turbo installation and it is not the trans with the problem. He said it is TPS related and that it is reading higher values than it should therefore changing back harshly.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Isn't the TPS adjustable ? I think all you'd need to do is track down the correct output for the TPS at idle ( i've seen these posted on this forum before ), then adjust it in/out as far as needed to get the right value.

Guess if that doesn't work the TPS might be cactus

Can't see it being a TPS issue related to the turbo install. The TPS just measures throttle position which has nothing to do with the turbo. I would check to see if the TPS is faulty. The only thing the turbo will do is give more power which can cause harsh changes, but the only time it goes back to 1st is at real slow speeds where throttle would basically be closed so that shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry to be more specific I think he meant it was more something to do with the wolf installation.
Its going back for a retune and more boost on friday, so I can ask them then.

Is there an easy way to determine if your TPS is rooted? I am having gear changing issues as well, but I'm hoping they will be resolved after my box is serviced.

the TPS is just a pot (variable resister). not a lot that can go wrong with them and even if it is stuffed they are cheap to replace.

Rank Rotary checked the voltage from the TPS and it is spot on so Im not sure what it is.
It not too bad so I can live with it.
