BTR 4 speed manual shift kit.
I am in the process of converting a 85LE into a manual shift, i am using a B & M Quicksilver shifter which i am modifying to fit a switch to change gears manually, i am not using a Auto computer, just switching the gears manually using s1, 2, and 7, I am leaving the rest of the soleniods disconnected so that i get full line pressure. Has anyone done this and if so, have they had any problems with braking drums. I was talking to a local autotrans shop and he reckons that if you increase the shift pressure too much in these boxes that they break drums? Has anyone had this happen or know if it does or not?
