Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knew if a BTR can be easily thrown onto an alloy head 250 crossflow? If it cant be done easily, what is involved and what do i need? How strong are the BTR boxes, can they handle a bit of power/torque?

no problem with power i have 230+rw kw tough mine ,wiring may be a problem being electronic.

it would be easyer geting motor & gearbox and computers.

Dont the early boxes have a seperate computer, if they do then you can just connect it up, along with the TPS? i am looking at doing this conversion myself sometime.

grab a 4speed auto and TCM+wiring and as many wiring diagrams as you can lay your hands on. Get the box+wring from an EAII / EBI

So it should just bolt straight up to a crossflow? What do you mean by, TCM and TBS?

TBS = no idea

They have a different bellhousing bolt pattern from XF to EA - AU

But the bellhousing from a 3spd MAY fit onto the auto box and make it possible to use it. You'd be best to ring an auto trans shop and ask them a few questions.

In terms of the computer for it, like has been said spome had a separate control module for it, so with a bit of electrical knowledge I'm sure that could be done.
