confused BTR snatches in first gear

I have a eaII and the trans works fine except some times it will slip in first gear and grab suddenly?Is this a band adjustment thing and which one front or back.

Possibly band...always both!

Possibly bad oil, or a bit of dirt in the system.

Or a solenoind...most likely S1. (but thats hap-hazard without bench testing to spec)
