For the guys at the AU trans post..

FILLING PROCEDURE
A major change to the late EF +EL trans is the removal of the dipstick/filler tube. The makes the trans a sealed unit and requires a new procedure for checking the trans oil.The trans should be warm to touch.48* to 52*C.(This should be done with care ,as to not burn youself if the trans is too hot) If the trans is cold the vehicleshould be driven for about 3.5 to 4.5 kms at light throttle so the engine does not exceed 2500 rpms .If the trans is at operating temp, allow the vehicle to cool down for 2 but no longer than 4 hours. If the oil is too hot the oil would have expanded ,resulting in too high an oil level. If the oil is not warm enough when filled ,the oil level will be too high (when hot) and could cause transmission damage due to overfilling.
1..Place vehicle on level ground or a hoist. On the drivers side is a filler plug.
2..Clean any dirt from around plug(plug has o'ring seal)
3..The correct level is reached when the ATF is level with the bottom of the filler hole....

Good one Greg.

The condition of the fluid can be checked by siphoning a bit out using a bit of 1/4" clear plastic hose into a small Vegemite jar, just an inch will do it. If it is black and stinks, time to replace it.
