No. You can get any combination. Basically, all 351 vehicles had the 4 pinion, as did the "heavyweight" utes and vans. Plus, I think if you optioned the heavy duty tow pack you got one as well, but I am not 100% on that....
Also, 3.9L MPI EAs with a 4 speed auto had 4 pinion 28 spline, but I can't figure why that was- it's not as if they are pumping out the torque of a V8....
Would a 3.9L MPI EA wagon with a 5 speed have one of these good diffs?
Would one of these wagons have a disc or drum rear end?
I ask, because there's a bloke wrecking one and my mate wants the 5 speed, while I'm only interested in some strong diff parts to use on my XE fairmont sedan, as I've only got the LSD 2.77 disc brake setup.
