c4 bellhousing usable with different engines - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

hello, i have a 1964 galaxie with a 390 and c4 trans-the trans is going and i have found a few used but rebuilt c4's in my area for a lot cheaper than having mine rebuilt-my question is these other trans are off 289 and 302 engines-can i just change out my bellhousing with those transmissions with out any other changes or will this not work at all?

Mate you need to check more.I doubt you have a c4 as they never came behind a 390.. Only bellhousing to do this is aftermarket.
