I have recently had my C4 rebuilt.

Putting it in (D)Drive everything goes well. Gear changes between 1st, 2nd and 3rd are perfect.
If you use the leaver the gear change between 1st and 2nd is Ok, but Im getting a massive slip between 2nd and (D)3rd when using the leaver.
I dont get it.
Can anyone advise or has anyone had a similar problem???

how much throttle are u using when it slips or does it do it all the time when shifted manually?it is possible the modulator pin is incorrect length.this can cause a slip during changes when there is little manifold vacuum.

Stock reco.

Slips all the time in manual shifting.

What is frustrating is, if you take it to 4500RPM and slip it into D, the slip generates about 1000 additional rpm, What do you think thats doin to the engine???????? Taking it to 5500.

Taking it easy at this point till I get it sorted. I just want to know a little more about it so the mechanic does throw the blanket over me!

wont hurt your eng as much as the trans slip causes big heat which kills atf.how firm are the other shifts and does it slip if you give it a bootfull in reverse.

manual shift between 1 and 2 is identical to auto shift.
