Put Castrol Transmax Z into the 5 speed today and shut up all the 1st & 2nd gear rollover noise. Red hawk found this out from Mal Woods in Qld and it works, also went to Shell LS90 in the Diff, and now its less thumpy and Clunky.
Transmax Z is apparently what Tremec recommend for the box (what are you doing to us FMC). Anyway worked well for the Blue Beasty.

its a bit unfortunate that some people on here have to sort their own warranty issues out. FMC should have known what Tremec recommend for their transmissions and filled them with Transmax Z from the factory !

Unfortunately Ford like a lot of manufacturers go into deals with other companies that can offer services cheaper, and as we all know companies are run by bean counters who are only interested in the 'bottom line', we have to suffer.

It's the same with my company, had no issue with our Turbo Alternator oil until Head Office got into a deal with another oil supplier. So next overhaul the oil was changed. Within 2 years we were having bacterial growth in our turbine oil systems that bad that you could have started off life on Mars with one shipment of our turbine oil. Needless to say we went back to our original oil in these turbines and have had no issue since.

Hey Rick well done, if its true FMC chooses to put cheap oil in a $65k GT Tremec box, that is absolutely shameful, believable, but **** me what would they save $20 bucks a unit, sometimes I'm amazed at how cheap FMC can get. Oh well, the almighty bottom line rules again.

Yeah it's a real piss off Rob but if Mobil showed Ford savings of $100,000's of dollars then Ford would gladly 'hop into bed' with them.

Got the Transmax Z put into the 'fox' yesterday, hard to tell yet as I still have the clutch problem, when that is fixed I can concentrate on how the gear change feels under high load.
