Hi guys, just wanna know...
I have a series 2 el 1998, i'd like to change the standard diff gears to 3:45 lsd.

How much work is involved and what kind of cost.
It sounds like a wortwhile mod but im not too educated on the subject.

If ya wanna change to an LSD and don't have it already, you'll have to buy an LSD diff.
The centres are NOT compatible with non-LSD centres!!!

Worth the change though.

if your going to so much trouble of changing gears, go for something lower...like a 3.7 or 3.9!!!!

expect to pay $600 for 345 gears and around 200 extra for LSD ...alternatively you could try wreckers for a diff out of an xr6 or sumpin...rare as hens teeth though...

The "centre" (hemisphere) is the LSD. Housings are the same. If you want a ratio change, just get new bearings and gearset fitted. If you want LSD, get an LSD hemisphere fitted while it is apart. Dead easy. Get a speedo gear to suit while you are at it.
