hey all, i want to get some 4.11's from a pintara and put it in my housing.

is that hard to do? what tools will i need? will my lsd be suitable? I have a series 1 eb xr8 does it have 25 spline or 28 spline axles?

What ratio is your diff, but I would bet it will be 28 spline

Pintara gears will fit but probably not worth doing at home. The Pintara pinion shaft is longer and will need special shimming. You also need to replace the bearing on the Pintara pinion as the Ford one is bigger which means having access to a press and to get the centre out and in again you need to spread the diff housing with a special tool and then theres all that shimming involved which shouldn't be done unless you have a large selection of shims. I now all this cos I tried putting Pinara gears in too, but in the end just go a shop to set it up.

dont even bother trying - if all you want is to replace the actual gears, get a diff shop to do it. it will probably be a couple of hundred bucks, but if you do it yourself you will stuff it completely and the gears will be destroyed. trust me.

Yeah unless you know exactly what you're doing and have all the right tools don't even touch it.
