Clutch cable question

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could help me. The clutch cable has an adjustment nut on the engine bay side of the firewall to adjust the clutch. I was wondering whether this nut is supposed to have any sort of retaining clip to hold it in place? Because my one doesnt and it always needs adjusting (I assume it simply undoes itself and so the pickup point on the clutch peddle keeps getting lower and lower). Thanks

Re: Clutch cable question

Hmm ok so how would I go about putting a 2nd nut on? Which end do I disconnect the cable from? (the gearbox or the pedal) Thanks

Re: Clutch cable question

Why not try putting a rubber o ring over the cable to prevent the nut from coming loose.
