confused Clutch conversion, Cable to hydraulic?

Hey guys,

I own a 99' XH longreach 5 spd. I'm another victim of a torn firewall where the clutch cable comes through into the cabin... (Thanks for the great design Ford).

I have for the moment welded in a small plate to strengthen the area to get me through.

I want to know if it is possible to convert my cable clutch to a hydraulic setup and if it would be a better option for my ute as i dont want this to happen again?

If it is what sort of $$$ would i be looking at for this conversion?

Any help would be great :)

Cheers...

Re: Clutch conversion, Cable to hydraulic?

G'day,
you would need another bellhousing to mount the slave cylinder.
It is quite do-able. Dellow Automotive can supply a suitable bellhousing, i think his asking price is around 495.

My dads XF 5 speed had the same problem, and likeyou i welded in some reinforcment....quite a lotof it... and that seemed to fix it, up until 351c and C4 conversion.

Cheers.
