How much have people paid to have theirs replaced?? The quote I was given is $370 all up, but with a 2nd hand S1, as I am replacing the trans with a manual eventually.

The S5 is from a Commodore, and firms the shifts up a fair bit, and is cheaper than the Ford S5. The Holden one is $220, while the Ford (non-adjustable) is $330-ish. Labour is $150.

Is this a good price, and also, how much is the AU adjustable S5 worth??

I have the feeling you can get aftermarket solenoids for a fair bit cheaper, I think the Ford oem ones cost an arm, leg and maybe a kidney. . .

if you are going to install a adjustable solenoid from a commodore into your falcon don't go too nuts with it and wind it too much because you can brake the aluminium drum inside the transmission with very hard shifting...Use around 1 1/2 to 2 turns (use this as a guidline)...you will get firm gear shifting and the car should chirp between the gears.
