I know this has been discuused a while back, but I thought i'd get a few opinions as to what is the best way about fixing it.

I'm slowly getting less travel between the floor and the 'bite' in the clutch, it on full adjustment as of yesterday and even thats gone, checked under the dash, and that plate on the other side of the clutch pivot bracket is coming away + flexing with pedal movement to such a degree that the pedal shaft is touching the pedal box at full depression so I think i've got days or hours left.

Looks like a dash off job, options are -

Have the current one welded - probably a stronger job, but requires me to get it out, find someone to weld it and put it back together within a day.

Buy a newie from Ford - Have the beefed it up? this is a handy option as I can buy it up front and do the job within a day easily, cost is about $105.

So, from guys who have had the problem, which way would you recommend?

i went your second option when i did mine. Took me about 2 hours to install.

Looks like I have no choice now though, no pedal boxes exist here in WA, 1 week delivery time.

Took it to my fave fangling guy, he's had a look at it and is going to drill and bolt it back together tomorrow morning, so i'll give tha a go first.

Ahhhhh the same old problem.Ask all us guys who have manual eb/d's all have been fixed.. The saga continues!!! Yea weld it buddy..Real good...

Happened on earlier models too, like our XF 5 speed.

It's only steel. "Cut your way in, weld your way out".
