I'm trying to find out what the differences between these two motors are.

I dont care about any of the electronics, just plain mechanical differences.

except for the obvious of the dual length intake.

The E.L vertually had the E.D XR specs..Check cam lifts in each series...More compression..Better?? crank & ballance?? Or was that until A.U ?

Does anyone know if there are any differences in cranks, rods, heads, comubstion chambers, etc, etc.

The EF had a 12 counter weight crankshaft, compared to 8 for the 4.0 EB I think.

The introduced some special 'crackin' technique when machining the rods. A slighly larger head chamber with the swirl port deleted. Compresion ratio upped a bit to 9.3:1 Revised piston design.

The motors have different crank rods and pistons,the Ef ran a coil pack where the EL ran a distributer,you could run one in your EB,
you would just have to run your electrics wired up to the EF or EL motor
