Diff Gears

Has anyone changed their diff gears in the new BA's yet ? I noticed that the XR8 has 3.23 while the XR6T has 3.45, which would explain its good 0-100 times.

I am thinking of putting 3.7's or 3.9's in my XR8 ute. Which should make it pull 0-100's in high 5's or flat 6's, making it quicker than the SS which also runs 3.45's.

If anyone has any thoughts on this please let me know.

Auto XR8 utes have 3.45:1.

When (that's right - WHEN) the 3.7 gears become available for the larger Dana style diff in the BA V8s, join the queue behind me. I'm first off the rank for that mod!

3.7 and 3.9:1 certainly will give you better accelleration but fuel economy on highway use will suffer. On the up side AP,another 200 rpm or so just might get rid of that resonating noise you were getting with your stainless system when highway cruising.

2003 BA XR6, T5, Blueprint. Herrods exhaust, unifilter ,painted calipers.
0-100 in 6.55 secs.

Also - Kawasaki ZZR, soon to be Kawasaki ZX6R.
