Anyone out there know the price on some 3.45 diff gears? Im putting in an LSD and would like to lower the gearing a bit while im at it. Ive just had a new cam put in which doesnt wake up till about 3500 then goes crazy. I need that power down lower so i can get the girl off the line quicker. Also how much more power should i expect by adding extractors into the equation?

Any help would be appreciated!

Also, does anyone know any good places in geelong that can help out with this Diff?

Get a diff out of an XR6 - then you get the 3.45's and the LSD.

But if you are going to get the gears installed into your diff, why not look at 3.7's or 3.9's???

Is it auto or manual??

She's auto at the moment, but over summer semester il get overtime and a T5. Im on a rather tight budget and have been told that 3.9's r expensive... The LSD centre is one thats just been lyin round and isnt going to cost me anything, so really only looking for some diff gears....

try a gear set from a VL commodore. i think from memorythey are about 3.45:1

Go to the diff place in Fyans street. I think it is called PDR Diffs? They did my 4.11's where as other places told me the Pintara gears won't fit and I needed to buy their gears.

with a big cam like u really need extractors, itll make a huge diffence in driveability.
JMM headers would be the way to go, as ive heard they are one the best for the 4L

Get the extractors first they will fill out the bottom and mid range for you.

Don't bother with the diff yet if you are going to go to a 5 speed manual.

Just waiting on my tax cheque then il be getting some JMM extractors. The diff in my car is pretty much cactus, it has that much backlash that its uncomfortable. when you start braking and the auto downshifts, it almost feels like a backwards shift kit!

My mate paid 200 bucks for a LSD with 3.45 gears from an XR6. LSD was worn so he got it shimmed up for $50. Made a huge difference to his EA.
