As you all probably know I have a 351 V8 in my xf now. My current rear axle setup consists of drum brakes and a single spinner 2.92 diff paired with a C10 auto.

I want LSD and a better ratio and discs would be good as well.

What setup should I get and where should i get it from?

Do i really need a 9 inch? what would it cost?

Ive heard that an XR8 diff and axle can be adapted, would this be a better option?

Should i get 3.23's or a 3.45? I want hard acceleration and hardly ever drive on the freeway but i might sometimes.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

hey dan,

i just put an EL XR8 axle under my xf (4.1 EFI & T5) and it absolutely hammers. fairly easy too, i already had lsd and disc brakes (fairmont ghia) but all you need is a pair of rear lower control arm bushes to suit EL XR, the xf yoke put onto the el diff, different wheel nuts to suit the el studs, and i got some brake lines made to suit the el caliper on one end and the xf hard brake line on the other (the handbrake setup is different too but i haven't had time to look at that yet, should be able to make the el one connect to the xf one). everything else was pretty straight forward stuff and as i mentioned above - it hammers!

u can do that or just slip in a disc conversion complete out of a ghia so its a lsd and yeah its factory if u want hard accelration dump the car and update it to a new modelfuell injected so its got good throttle response and ull c it will hammer a el xr8 will look and go really good
