What is the best diff ratio to get for an EA to get a better takeoff a line, and to easily rip some mad brakiesss?

Any suggestions will help.

when you find out tell me too ! , my EA has an allright takeoff but is clearly geared for top end overtaking at highway speeds and fuel economy in the city.

wind out first gear though and you will move out !!!!

Is it 3,4 or 5 speed??

What sort of power are you getting from your engine, is it stock???

4.11 9 inch would do the trick.

4.11 is great for acceleration. your car will rev its tits off though on the highway.
personally i would go for a 3.45, its a great compromise.

At the moment it is a 3 speed auto but i am in the process of finding a T5. What diff gears would i be looking at with both of these transmissions???

with the 3 speed, a 3.45 diff wouldnt be very nice at freway/highway speeds. If your were going to keep your 3 speed, then i wouldnt go any higher than 3.23, mabey only 3.08. However with the 5 speed a 3.45 ratio will be fine. Even with the 4 speed 3.45 is a nice ratio. with the 4/5speed you can go upto 3.9 and still have "reasonable"(read: getting a tad high) revs at freeway speeds

the Ford 9 inch diffs are pretty power hungry things, so there would be no real point putting one in unless you had around 150KW @ wheels or more.

My suggestions.
3 speed
3.23 Good acceleration, reasonable freeway driving.
3.45 Better burnouts and acceleration, around 3000rpm @100 ie. freeway revs too high.

4 speed
3.23, 3.45 same as 3 speed, but lower freeway revs.
3.9 - very easy burnouts.

5 speed
nothing higher the 3.45!!!!!!!
I am very happy with my 3.23 and 5 speed. Probably wouldn�t go 3.45�s In my car.

IMO, 4.11 will slow down your EA.

Remember, higher gears don't always make your car faster, it sometimes does the opposite..
