Question Diff Woes
I have just rebuilt standard 9" LSD diff in my 74 f100 2wd,followed factory repair manual to all specs but when you turn around corners diff sounds like binding up and noisy

Did you soak the clutches in diff oil for a few days?

No about 1 hour has been in ute for about 4 weeks should be ok by now.

If you shim up the clutch pack to factory specs with clutches that haven't been soaked properly, then it will bind until the clutches wear in or wear out. It can actually strip the friction lining off the clutches.
