diff - xt to xw

gday,
just wondering whether i could use a xt diff center with 3.5 gears and housing and put it in my xw with no mods
or will i have to take out the xt center and put it in mine and use my axels.

I would say that the XT diff assembly should bolt straight into an XY.

No need to do any mods at all I would think...

what do ya reckons easier?
whole setup
or
just change internals minus axels because there is nothing wrong with mine now

Whole setup should take under an hour plus bleeding the brakes...

I haven't opened a diff since 1990 - just get another one and bolt it in - I don't even disturb the brakes anymore, except to unhook the handbrake...

same diff, i think the axles on the xt were thinner than v8 xw/y.

i just dont wana pull the whole setup out
only to find that the xt is different length and cant bold onto leaf spring
that'd be a real bitch
