Question Diffcenter change-over

Hi !

My name is Paul and I'm a newie on the Forums.
I drive a Ford Falcon ED GLi (classic), it's an automatic.
I'm quite happy with my cars performance, except for the fact that
it accelerates pretty sluggish under 40 km/h.
Would changing my diffcentre to a lower ratio make a lot of
difference in acceleration ? I am thinking about replacing my
2.77:1 to a 3.45:1, this IS possible right? Is it hard to do?
Do I need different axleshafts ? Does my chip need reprogramming?
For how much would I be able to pick up a 3.45:1 diff & what is the best place to get in from (prefferably in Adelaide)?

I hope anyone can help me with these questions.
Thanx !

How ya doing Paul.

A diff change from 2.77 to 3.45 would help out your car a great deal, and I strongly reccomend it.

Any diff specialist would be able to do it for you. You can use your existing axels as well.

You do not need to touch your chip, but you will need to change the speedo sender gear on the trannie to correct you speedo reading.

I'd say around $500 - $600 for a center and gears.
